The studio building is taking shape! Once the rafters are on and the bracing done, the frame will be disassembled and moved out behind our house.
This drawing was my final effort out on Great Spruce Head Island this past week. It was a fine, fine week of painting and drawing. Also, I think that it did me a world of good to take a week out of my normal painting and drawing habits, taking the show on the road, as it were.
Here’s a little drawing of a site that I’d painted years ago and have recently revisited. As I worked on this drawing, I came to realize that I’d really liked the shapes created by the high tide water-line. This drawing is at low tide. Whoops. So, I have some further drawings to work up as I re-familiarize myself with this bit of shoreline.
