Dear FutureMe,
Hey, It’s been 5 years. I hope I’m feeling better. Give the family a big hug from the past…

Thanks, PastMe I am indeed feeling considerably better. It’s been a long journey back from a serious brain injury in 2003.

I regained consciousness after a few days after the skiing accident. I found myself in an alien environment with a mind functioning not very well but well enough to know that things were seriously amiss. While I’d been away in coma land, the invasion of Iraq had started. There’s not all that much to do in the hospital. However,  a TV  sits just above the bed. The war was on 24/7,  every  channel.  A rude awakening. Shock and awe indeed.
